Our Heritage: The Slavs

Organizer: The Institute for the Protection of Cultural Heritage of Slovenia
The Institute of Archaeology of the Research Centre of the Slovenian Academy of Sciences and Arts and the Institute for the Protection of Cultural Heritage of Slovenia, under the auspices of the municipalities of Preddvor, Kranj and Bled are organizing the international symposium Our Heritage: The Slavs, which will be held on the 28th to 30th of September, 2016 in Kranj.
The purpose of the symposium is to set up a common exploration of the early mediaeval history, intangible and material culture of the Slavs in the areas of Central and Southern Europe and to stimulate interest in the heritage of the Slavs not only between scientists but also in the general public. Particular attention is also given to the shaping of developmental policies, mainly the managing of this heritage and its inclusion into our time and space.
The emphasis of the symposium is laid on the interdisciplinary approach, hence scientist and experts from different research fields are kindly invited to participate actively by means of papers and posters (more information in the attachment)!
