The research interests of the Archaeozoology working group include animal exploitation practices in all periods from the Palaeolithic onwards, with special emphasis

  • on the role of hunting and animal keeping in the economy of past human communities
  • morphometry
  • recognizing past human activities
  • understanding the relationship between neighboring settlements
  • palaeoenvironment

We are studying both large mammal and small mammal remnants, mostly from Slovenian archaeological sites.
