Archaeobotany: Current research | Research equipment | Reference collection | Links
In the Archaeobotany Research Group, we study plant macroremains preserved in archaeological strata. The most common archaeobotanical finds are charcoal and charred remains of seeds/fruits and cereal chaff. More rarely, e.g. on pile-dwelling sites at Ljubljansko barje, plant remains are preserved in a waterlogged state, besides seeds/fruits/chaff also wood.
