Languages
The series publishes works:
- entirely bilingual (Slovenian and English run side by side; the order may also be reversed, with English in the first column and Slovenian in the second)
- in Slovenian with longer chapter summaries in English
- in English with Slovenian abstracts (anthologies only)
Submissions in English must be made in British or American English. Authors may use British or American spellings and grammar provided they are used consistently throughout the submission.
Article Submission
Authors should submit their manuscripts in digital format to the editors of the series (OIAS@zrc-sazu.si)
Peer-review Process
The editorial board provides an initial assessment of the manuscript’s suitability within three weeks of receiving it, and appoints reviewers, who submit their reports within three to five months.
Text Formatting
- The text should be formatted consistently. Use one-and-a-half line spacing without additional spacing at the beginning or end of a paragraph.
- Use blank lines between paragraphs only when you want to intentionally separate individual sections of text; otherwise, format paragraphs consistently (e.g. with paragraph indentation).
- The text should be formatted without additional styling. The only exceptions are italics (e.g. for references to figures, plates, etc.) and bold (for emphasis within the text), where necessary.
- You may submit the main text as a single file or divided by chapters.
- If individual chapters are contributed by different authors, they should be saved in separate files.
- Please attach the references (see “Citations”), captions, and figures (see “Illustrative Material”) as separate files with clear filenames.
Fonts
Use a standard font. Set the font size to 12 pt, and the line spacing to 1.5. If the text contains unusual characters, special fonts, or transliterations, clearly indicate this and provide additional explanations as needed.
Citations
OIAS uses the same citation guidelines as the Arheološki vestnik (https://ojs.zrc-sazu.si/index.php/av/about/submissions; section 4 Citations).
When a book contains multiple chapters by different authors, the reference list may be a single list covering the entire book, specific sections, or individual chapters.
Illustrative Material
OIAS uses the same guidelines for illustrative material as the Arheološki vestnik (https://ojs.zrc-sazu.si/index.php/av/about/submissions;section 5 Illustrative material)
Copyright Notice
Authors guarantee that the manuscript is their own original creation and does not infringe any statutory or common-law copyright or any proprietary right of any third party. In the event of claims by third parties, authors undertake to defend the interests of the publisher and to bear any resulting costs.
