Matija Turk is a research associate at the Institute of Archaeology ZRC SAZU. His research is focused on the Palaeolithic and Mesolithic periods in the south-eastern Alpine region, and recently has focused primarily on investigating Mesolithic sites in the Julian Alps and the Ljubljansko barje (Ljubljana Marshes). An important part of his work is also the interpretation and presentation of archaeological heritage to the wider public. He is the author or co-author of several archaeological exhibitions.
