Connected by Circles
On 20 and 21 November 2025, the Czech Academy of Sciences in Prague will host the international conference Connected by Circles: Chronological Perspectives and Diffusion Patterns of Neolithic Enclosures in Central Europe, dedicated to gather researchers from various backgrounds to discuss and share their results on absolute dating, spatial analyses, experimental earthwork construction, and theoretical approaches to help contextualise enclosures in the various societies in the central European Neolithic.

At the event, Bine Kramberger (Institute of Archaeology ZRC SAZU) and co-authors Tjaša Tolar, Borut Toškan, Anton Velušček (ZRC SAZU), Alenka Tomaž (University of Primorska), Alenka Jovanović (Arhos d.o.o.) and Gojko Tica (Tica sistem d.o.o.) will present Hilltop and Lowland Enclosures in the Southeastern Alpine Region. Current State of Research and Preliminary Results of a Multi-Scalar Study. In their contribution they will show new results on Late Neolithic hilltop and lowland enclosures in the southeastern Alpine region. Their interdisciplinary study includes the earliest evidence of cereal cultivation and aquatic resource use in the 5th millennium BC, documented at the lowland enclosure site of Dolenji Leskovec.
