Written Archive of the Institute

The written archive of the Institute of Archaeology consists of the following collections:
Reports:
- a collection of reports and studies by researchers from the institute and external collaborators who carried out research in Slovenia through the institute, as well as reports from the former Archaeology Section.
The database search engine is available at http://arkas.zrc-sazu.si/index.php.
Originals:
- a collection of original material from former and current researchers at the institute, field diaries and other primary documentation, and some older original material from external authors stored at IZA (Predjama, Ložar, etc.).
Copies:
- copies of written archaeological documentation important to our region; the originals are kept by other Slovenian and foreign institutions (part of the archive of the Vienna Central Commission; Szombathy's correspondence and diaries and the diaries of F. Ferko; correspondence and other archives of Pečnik, Žmavc, Kušljan, Ložar, Hitzinger, Mülner, Dežman, and others).
The manuscripts have been partially transcribed.
Miscellaneous:
- collection of various materials: correspondence (Tabula imperii Romani), polemics (Ptuj Castle), originals for the institute's publications (Arheološki vestnik and others), materials from symposia, materials on the Archaeological Map of Yugoslavia, archaeological terminology, etc.

Materials cannot be borrowed for home use. They can be viewed at the Institute of Archaeology, more by arrangement.
